Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the pioneering departments in Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Padur. The department offers Undergraduate, Post Graduate, and Research Programmes in Engineering. The Programmes offered by the department assist our students in developing competence, and confidence in creative application of design, manufacturing processes. The thrust areas of research CAD/CAM/CAE, Condition Monitoring ,Renewable energy, Composite technology, Mechatronics, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Alternate fuels, Thermal Energy Storage, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning, Industrial Tribology, Metal Joining, and Industrial Ergonomics. The department has also established a Centre for Excellence in Simulation and Engineering Design (SIMENDES) to promote advance research.
